The first day was busy. So many people came by to see us. One by one my siblings were purchased, but I was left in the cage by myself. Towards the end of the day I noticed a new couple at the show. I first noticed them as they snuck in a side door rather than pay the $5 fee at the main entrance. I then watched as they went around the room, looking at birds and playing with them. The beautiful woman kept going back to a baby goffin cockatoo that was looking at her with big, brown eyes. The silly acting fellow was quite enamored with a baby African grey that was doing acrobats to attract his attention. The two walked past my cage so many times that I lost count. They couldn't decide which of the birds to get- he wanted an active bird, she wanted a cute, snuggly bird.
Finally the silly one noticed me. He called the beautiful woman over to take a look. Immediately I started kissing her and wouldn't stop. This made her laugh and continue to give me attention. The couple asked questions about me, and compared me to the other two birds. The Goffin with his big brown eyes was no match for my affectionate kisses, and the African Grey was a bumbling clown compared to my playful antics. Eventually I won out. The silly one paid for me, and handed me to the beautiful woman! I was so happy. I now live with them in Thornton, Colorado. Here, I have my own flower garden, a big back yard full of trees, and a room all to myself which is full of plants. My favorite saying: "I'm not in Kansas any more!"
I really love to give kisses! That is why I'm named Bacio- it's Italian for kiss. Really I'm just tasting my owners lips, but they like to think I'm kisisng so why not. I've never been sexed, but my owners think I am a boy bird. If they ever find out otherwise, then I'll be called Bacina.
I hate baths! Who ever said parrots like to get sprayed every day? This irritates me to no end. To make matters worse, while I sit with a scowl on my face my owners laugh at me. They think its quite funny, but do I look like I'm enjoying myself?
